how things have changed

eric and i are now actively looking for a new front door (i said actively since we've been wanting to change the front door since we moved early this year) for our home since the old one has seen better days (and i want a stained timber front door, not painted like the one we have now!). i sent him a couple of websites of door suppliers in sydney and got this response from him via email:

"hi baby,

sige kuha tayo ng quote from these suppliers...

dati supplier lang ng wedding cake kausap natin...ngayon pintuan naman... "

things have definitely changed!

my dream front door from corinthian...

Reminiscent of mysterious doorways in old world villages where the pace of life is slow and measured, Tuscan doors hint at a special quality of life. Handbeaten steel (black powder coated) in a choice of designs and superbly crafted glass panels are matched with select timber and classic stile and rail construction.

the may that was

am back!

can't believe that my last entry was april.

so many things have happened last month. will get into the details on separate posts (IF i get the chance to come back to it) but let me list down what has happened:

...in-laws arrived first week of may and stayed for 30 days. they went around australia: new south wales(sydney, hunter valley, terrigal/central coast), australian capital territory (canberra!), queensland (gold coast: read THEME PARKS galore) and victoria (melbourne). masama pa ata loob ng mil ko dahil hindi sya nakapuntang WA, NT and SA. :-)

...my side of the family arrived! everyone came: papa, mama, happy, marian and jolly even tito robert came with them. ate dawn arrived after a couple of weeks. kuya arvi came later and still is here!

...celebrating mother's day with both our mamas here with us! had a picnic at bobbin head with the rest of the family.

...went to bondi (first time!) and then paddy's market with the family.

...we got our day bed with matching armchairs pa! in time for the house blessing. you have no idea how much time we spent looking for that perfect sofa in our living room. kaya i decided to mention this as an "event" for may.

...had my hair cut! would you believe that it was my first time since i moved to australia? we're talking almost one and a half years ago! since mama arrived, she kept on bugging me to get my hair cut. if not, she'll cut my hair daw. i closed my eyes na lang when i handed my atm to pay for it. a php800 haircut in propaganda doesn't seem to be expensive after all.

...we finally had our house blessing when everyone was here. that was may 27, ate dawn arrived that day and then my in-laws are leaving the next day so it was a welcome gathering for ate dawn and despedida for my in-laws. not to mention marian's 20th birthday as well. sulit na sulit ang handa!

...i was on leave every friday since my family arrived and then took a week off when ate dawn arrived since we'll be doing the out of towns then. sunday, we went to canberra with the entire alarcon gang. monday-tuesday, went to blue mountains - echo point and then scenic world. went inside chifley cave at jenolan (first time again!) after and stayed overnight at the cottage of the jenolan caves house. went inside orient cave the day after. before heading back home, we passed by featherdale wildlife park(another first for me!) to see koalas and kangaroos and other native australian animals. we then proceeded to tito reggie's house to have dinner with them.

...everyone went back to manila that thursday except ate dawn and tito robert. ate dawn and i went around the city (after bringing them to the airport that morning). we went for a tour in the sydney opera house and then walked around the city (circular quay side). after that, we met with jen and then took the ferry to manly where we met with aris. it was so cold that night!

...friday, city (this time we went to the darling harbour side) again with ate dawn. met with eric (who came directly from the airport), jen and aris and leah and tim at the famous pancake on the rocks (sabi nga namin ni jen it's another tourist destination in the city!). after that, we decided to have a karaoke session at home (thanks for the magic sing pasalubong of papa and mama to us) till the wee hours of the morning. everyone decided to sleepover since everyone was pretty much drunk!

...saturday morning had breakfast at pie in the sky and then off to sydney olympic park and then dfo for some shopping! we then proceeded to bondi to have dinner at hog's breath cafe.

...although this happened just this month, it's worth mentioning that i pumped gas in the rav for the FIRST TIME in my life. easy lang pala...hehehehehehehehe :-)

*will update this entry with more links and pics when i get the chance. till then...
